CFA ANNOUNCES DIRECTOR OF COMMUNICATIONS
 


Sacramento - California Forestry Association (CFA) President David A. Bischel announced today that Mr. Robert (Bob) Mion has been named director of communications, effective January 1, 2008.  In this capacity, Mr. Mion will have program management responsibilities for CFA’s communications, marketing and media relations activities, and for representing CFA’s diversified membership in the development and implementation of communications and marketing strategies and tactics.

In making his announcement, Mr. Bischel stated, “I am extremely pleased to have an individual with the credentials of Mr. Mion join the CFA team. Bob is currently the marketing/editorial services director of the California Forest Products Commission, and brings a wide variety of experience and understanding of communications and marketing strategies to this position. Moreover, he has excellent publications experience, having been managing editor of the California Forests magazine since 2003.”

Mr. Mion holds a B.A. degree in English from Fairfield University, Fairfield, Connecticut, and joins CFA with over 20 years of marketing, communications and media experience.

Mr. Mion stated, “I am extremely pleased and honored to become a part of such a well-respected organization. The issues facing forest management in California are complex and diverse.  I look forward to communicating with the state’s decision leaders and general public about the importance of California’s forest industry as an essential leader in the vitality of our state’s economy and environment, providing natural wood products from healthy, sustainable forests.”
