CFA announces new vice president of legal and environmental affairs
Sacramento -- California Forestry Association (CFA) President David A. Bischel announced today new Vice President of Legal and Environmental Affairs Michele Dias, effective January 10, 2005. In this capacity, Ms. Dias will be responsible for representing CFA’s diversified membership on legal and environmental compliance issues.
In making his announcement, Mr. Bischel stated, “I am extremely pleased to have an individual with the credentials of Ms. Dias join the CFA team. Michele is a natural resources attorney who brings a wide variety of experience and understanding of the law and regulations as they affect water rights and water quality, endangered species, pesticides, invasive species, air quality and the application of CEQA to environmental permitting.”
Ms. Dias holds a J.D. degree from Mc George School of Law, and a Bachelor’s degree in Business Management from CSU Stanislaus. Michele joins CFA after serving as Associate Council in the Natural Resources and Environmental Division of the California Farm Bureau Federation for the last three years.
Ms. Dias stated, “I am extremely pleased and honored to become a part of such a well respected organization. The issues are huge! Never before have we had so many policy and legal decisions on complex forest management issues. I will do everything possible to support and encourage responsible development and interpretation of forest policies.”
